CobbLinc, Gwinnett County Transit (GCT) and the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority regional express bus system (Xpress) will all utilize the same Breeze system.  This will help solve many of the problems for the transit customer in the Atlanta region – who is increasingly likely to use more than one transit service to complete a trip.  These are trips that until now have required knowledge of confusing transfer policies and issuing of various paper and magnetic card transfer which discouraged inter-jurisdictional travel by transit.

Breeze will provide the technology to create a fare structure common to all of the transit providers. Breeze establishes a common fare clearinghouse that will distribute revenue between the various transit systems. This will allow for the Transit Planning Board to facilitate a regional fare structure. Despite the various systems providing service in the Atlanta region, it will function as one seamless system for the customer.  The MARTA Breeze Team is working closely with the Transit Planning Board and partners Cobb and Gwinnett Counties as well as the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority to plan and eventually implement improved fare policies for the region.
